Reservoir Dogs the game?

2K Games is apparently at work on a Reservoir Dogs game. Am I the only one who thinks this a bad idea?

I am not against movie games, don't get me wrong, but of all of the Tarantino movies to make a game out of, that is the one they chose? I guess Kill Bill wasn't action-packed enough.

And the weird thing is, the fact that it is 2K games doing it makes me think it will be done rather shabbily. I mean, they screwed up 24... badly, and in the end, it will probably reflect poorly on the license as well. If it was Rockstar doing the work and it was their totally their baby, I might not be so apprehensive. I mean at least with the Warriors, it was a loving homage to the original movie, a movie which was more game like in conception and execution than Reservoir Dogs in most respects.

I am now wondering if somehow an Ocean's Eleven game is going to be coming out now too, and what company would butcher that one.

Yeah from a Game Designing perspective, totally bad idea. Most of the people we associate with think it is ass. Here's the thing; who gives a fuck about playing Reservoir Dogs, the game, years later? Sure some movies will go down in infamy but the game? Eh.

The Warriors is a cult classic, the movie is an institution constantly quoted by all who have viewed it. I was more amused by the Reservior Dogs with Bunnies shown on Starz On Demand than the actual movie. What will the game even be about?
Sidenote:
Halloween 2003: Costume: Lizzie
Halloween 2004: Costume: Furie
Halloween 2005: Costume: Death from "Paradise Lost"
Halloween 2006: Planned costume: High-hat

Hey, look at the bright side... considering it's a game developed through Tarantino, it could be "Hostel - The Game".

Snackiepoo: I think like many movie-tie-in games, it will be a bargain bin entry within 6 months. I know QT wanted to work on a Reservoir Dogs prequel, but I don't think this is what he had in mind exactly.

Anomie-Atlanta: To be honest, I can't even remember all the major plot points from RD and the bunnies helped me remember most of it. And I agree that the Warriors is very iconic. And now that you mention it, I am fascinated by your costume choices. You picked some heavy outfits there(and I am sort of glad you didn't go with orphan or mercy).

Matthew: I don't think a game publisher has the stomach yet for something like that.

What was that? I'm sorry, I didn't catch it. Would you repeat it?
