A few things about me

This is not a meme. There are no tags here. This is merely a list of a few things you might not know about me, that are somewhat related to this subject matter of this blog, and may in some senses color what I say here.

  • I very rarely ask other people to be my friends on social networks like Facebook and Myspace... I usually wait for them to ask me because I don't want to impose on people. I don't want to be one of those awkward requests like, I don't know, their mom or something.

  • Even though I haven't own a set in a long time, I keep considering going out and buying some Legos or some other similar kind of building toy. I don't know why this thought keeps occurring to me however.

  • As I get older, it seems like every song by the late Jim Croce I hear is somehow increasingly evocative to me. At first, it was just "Time in a Bottle," but it seems like its happening with almost all his songs now. I mean, "Operator" I understand, but even "Bad Bad Leroy Brown"? I'm going soft, I really am.

  • I have never played a Guitar Hero/Rock Band game... and in fact, my experience with rhythm based games is extremely limited. I never played Dance Dance Revolution or any of its predecessors or clones either.

  • Critically acclaimed television series I haven't seen an episode of: Veronica Mars, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Firefly, Angel, Rescue Me, Dexter, The L-Word, Nip/Tuck, Monk

  • While I am a fan of violent movies and video games, I can't really stand realistic gore, blood or depictions of pain at all.

Dude. You MUST see Firefly. I also highly recommend Veronica Mars. Battlestar Galactica had some really great moments, though IMHO it peaked before the final season.

I'm not going to jump up and down about how you have to watch any of those TV shows - you're going to get plenty of that anyway :P

I did want to say though that I too occasionally think about buying some lego. I wonder if it would be good for working out angles and perspective in illustrations. Oh and the fact that lego is neat.

One of my friends recently asked if they could buy the offspring's lego collection. I hummed and hawed and never gave a straight answer. Now I think I know why that happened.

For me, it's been The Eagles. I don't know why that happened...

I'm wondering why the lay-out which is good in the feed-reader, gets messed up (in my view) in the actual blogpost.

Ontopic:
Lost: I would wait till it's all finished and watch, I'm not that lucky, I'm already watching.
I still haven't watched Firefly either (I know Lee, I should!) and also recommend Veronica Mars.

As for Bad Bad Leeroy Brown, my father has been indoctrinating me with his (dad's choices) music for years so I already liked that track.

Lego: HA! I own tons of lego at my parents. Lots of pirates (including a ship), álmost all of the M-tron stuff and I think 2 spaceshuttles, one on a launching base. Oh and thanks, now I'll be getting up to the attic next time I'm at my parents place and will be constructing something again.

Chelfea: Veronica Mars is the one I am most interested in on that list.

Lee: I just remember playing with them as a child.

Megan: *A "The Dude" Moment* I've had a rough night, and I hate the fucking Eagles, man.

Arjan: I think it is a IE/Firefox CSS issue. I will look into it and come up with a solution.

I get like that. Lego sets are terribly expensive even for an average working adult. The last set I bought was about ten years ago, some egyptian themed set.

Price is certainly an object for me... as I am value conscious.
