The Culture Kills Music Podcast Episode 1

After many days of toil, many hours of embarrassment and many minutes of frantic writing, I present the first Culture Kills Music Podcast (with an added cheesy opening which I will inevitably overhaul by the second episode).

I am a little rough (which is putting it mildly), but it was the best I could do, and in the end, it turned out a little better than I had originally thought. And personally, I think the music I chose was pretty sweet, and in the end, I think that is the most important part.

The podcast features the following songs:

The Pimps of Joytime - Street Sound
Triptic Winter - Rethinking Atlas
Val Emmich - Got a Habit Now
Betika - Bob Hope
Uma Floresta - Gunfight
The Squarewaves - Young

You can listen to it on the embedded player below:

Of course, if you want to download it for future listening, it is available in MP3 form.

The podcast is also available at Mevio, which also features an RSS feed and additional listening options.

I hope you enjoy it, and with any luck, the second episode should be up in two weeks.

And if you are an independent musician or represent a publicity or record company that makes music available for podcast, feel free to contact me at campybeaver@gmail.com.

I'm going to listen to it again tomorrow because I was doing all kinds of other stuff while listening. But as a first reaction: very very cool music and your voice is your voice nothing (too ;)) wrong with it.

I'm going to try and find out how this whole podcasting works.

I think there is much that can be improved on my end. The music is good, but I am the weakest link in this whole enterprise.

Thanks for featuring my song. I enjoyed the podcast, and not just because I was in it. :)

Dude. Capitilize on your unique vocals. Don't get too smooth. Rather, shape what you've got into something special. I foresee this...

Listening now...

I'm liking this, Good choice for the first song, very funky

I'm going to download it to my Mp3 player.

Looking forward to more

Mayren: Well, I think it will soon be available for iTunes subscription as well. And thanks for the vote of confidence.

Uma/Ben: It was a pleasure to play your work... and I may play something else in the future. I also have to commend you on dropping me a line here as you've saved me an email/message to you about it. ;)

Peachey: So you are saying I should go all Christopher Walken then?

Semaj: I had a feeling you'd like the Pimps of Joytime... I almost told you about them the last time you were on the cam.

As much as I pride myself in my expansive musical knowledge, I've never heard of these groups. I'd love to get some descriptions/history/background of the songs or artists and why you chose to feature them.

I just realized that you might have descriptions in the podcast itself, but as it is currently downloading, I would have no idea. Hmmm...

Yeah, the additional information is in my post-song banter.

Thanks for the endorsement Scott. I was a little worried about its reception with you.
