I love electronic music of almost every stripe, from the early pioneers to those working in the field today, and sitting astride that history is Pierre Henry, who in 1967 wrote a piece of music with Michel Colombier called Psyche Rock, which became the loving basis of the Futurama theme song.
It certainly makes me want to whip out my Futurama boxsets or build a larcenous, booze-swilling robot.

That vid is perfect for the series! and the music was originally created in '67? That is cool You can hear how today's electronic music has its roots from way back then!
Jeremy: Part of me thinks it was one of those videos a record company threw together for the song for MTV airplay. I can't confirm that, as the video doesn't have an entry in the MVDB.
Micgar: I think the music director wanted the music to match the paleofuturist vision of the title.
Wow, that's cool. I hope the producers gave the guy credit/royalties.
