The Only Brokeback Mountain Parody I Actually Liked

When Brokeback Mountain came out, the movie trailer spoofs were as ubiquitous as mosquitos after a rainy spring. Most were cheap, stupid and really struggled to really connect the two movies the makers were spoofing. However, one of these efforts actually hit all the bases and actually stuck with me. After seeing the Brokeback Mountain last night, I suddenly remembered that one good trailer, and I thought I would show it to all you nice folks.

The premise of the trailer was what if Goodfellas was a gay love story. On the surface, it seems like it would be a really silly premise for a parody, but really, it does make sense. I mean, both the world of cowboys and their period contemporaries in the Mafia are not the most tolerant subcultures for that kind of romance. *cough*

The combination is just very well done, and the person who put it together did a bang up job. It is not just one of the best mash-up trailers for Brokeback Mountain I've seen, but one of the best in that form. So enjoy Brokeback Goodfellas, and tell me if you could actually believe that Goodfellas could have been that kind of movie after all.

If you don't mind spoiling Brokeback Mountain, you could also head over to see it in 30 seconds as performed by bunnies for Starz.

got to disagree. I think Brokeback II the Future was the best spoof.

I love the Bunny Parodies - especially that one. The Titanic one was fabulous, too.

I love the one for a Christmas Story too.
