Policeman Shot in my Old Neighborhood

I am sort of in shock right now, because I just found out that a police officer was shot and killed a couple blocks from where I used to live in front of a convenience store, and where a lot of my family lived for over half a century. I mean, it happened right in front of a place that I thought of as safe. I went to that store all the time as a kid, and now, now I don't think I can look back with the same kind of nostalgia I used to have.

The fact that there is still someone running around out there, and that they have locked down the schools in the area does little to make me feel any better. I just don't know what to say really.
