The Warriors remake is Still on?

Since I hadn't heard anything about The Warriors remake, I had assumed that it had stalled in development and was therefore not going to happen, so I was breathing a sigh of relief.

And then I read a story that Tony Scott is still working on it with a modern Los Angeles setting. But he isn't calling it a remake or even a reboot. No, he is referring to it as a retooling.

I think I speak for most fans of The Warriors when I say that whatever you are going to call it, there is at least one tool involved already.

Because retooling my ass. To retool something, well, generally it means that it is something that is in progress like a television series, a stage show or even a series of movies. How do you retool a movie that is in existence and is a singular creation. You can retool your own production, but I don't think that's what Tony Scott meant.

Part of me wonders if Walter Hill is supremely pissed off about all this.

So, retooling is the new word they're using to refer to remakes now? Rebooting and reimaging have apparently run their course.

Originally in Hollywood is sadly a lost art form.

The question is... did they ever really have it though.
