Express Checkout: Memoirs, Metallica, Moles and Martin

• You know, unless you were a prodigy that became a doctor in something by age 16 and a professional mountain climber at 20, and died at 26 I don't think anyone needs to memoir about you. Especially not your mother. I'm looking at both you Dina Lohan and Lynne Spears


• I am sort of disheartened that one of my favorite reality series ever, The Mole, is getting destroyed in the ratings, which doesn't bode well for it making it to the end of the season, let alone being renewed for next year on ABC. And let's face it, the Monday 10PM slot has been cruel to me over the years, as both Journeyman and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip fought and died in that place.


• Metallica told some music reviewing bloggers that they were sorry their management company told them to take down advance reviews for their new album. "Our response was 'WHY?!!! Why take down mostly positive reviews of the new material and prevent people from getting psyched about the next record ... that makes no sense to us!'" Well, given the band's history of building their name through tape trading and then when that practice reached the internet, doing a complete 180 on their fans, well, I could see how people would indeed believe that could be the band's decree.


• Entertainment Weekly put together a list of the 16 worst accents in the movies... and they included Steve Martin's take on Inspector Clouseau in the recent Pink Panther remake. The people who compiled this list do understand that the accent is supposed to be like that, because that accent that Peter Sellers was using when he played that role was just so authentic, isn't it?
