Referrals/Recommendations

I like telling people about things they might like. It is a natural quality I have. I do it on my blog all the time, and in real life as well. I am never looking for anything out of it in return, I just really enjoy doing it.

And some of you have probably received emails from me after I see something online that, from my experience reading your blog, I think will interest you. I have no ulterior motive in doing so as I was accused of doing yesterday by a fellow blogger yesterday.

So, if I've ever given you a referral/recommendation to a video/blog entry/image by email and you don't want me to do that anymore, well, I am fine with that. Just tell me, and I won't email you links anymore.

MC, I've gotten an e-mail or two from you along those lines, and never would I have thought to accuse you of ulterior motives! Wow.
Never mind. You just keep doing what you do. No biggie at all.

The story: I was using Stumbleupon and I found this blog that I really liked, and they wrote quite a few little items on a certain celebrity phenomenon which I had a couple of sites on in my bookmarks. I sent them to this blogger and because my blog address is in signature of my emails, I was accused of trying to promote my "lameass blog" by referral and it made me wonder if some of the people in my more immediate blogging circle were irritated by those emails as well.

Mel: Thank you.

Jim: And you know how I feel about referral action... I mean, I actively ASK people to send me things, especially for the Transmundanity Award. I am very open to it.

I've never had a problem with the e-mails, I'm actually going to use the link now.

Mayren: Ah yes, I learned that lesson well at Crazy Go Nuts University. A warm one is not one at all.

Semaj: I like to link people together. :)
